My fiance raved about this restaurant. However, I was skeptical as she had Young Joni almost 7 years ago. I had a great experience. Now I know why it made such a strong impression! The ambiance was relaxed and calm, with a cool decor that was like modern industrial. The service was friendly and accommodating, albeit slightly slow as it seems the wait staff had quite a few tables per server. The food, however, was spectacular! The Korean bbq pizza was absolutely delicious. Imagine a galbi pizza with a Korean salad on top and that's what Young Joni essentially created! Perfect Neapolitan style pizza dough, and the galbi was delicious. I would've happily ordered that meat on its own in a Korean restaurant! The Thai sausage skewers were also a delightful surprise. The salty and strong lemongrass flavor paired perfectly with all the fresh herbs and spicy sauce. My only regret is that this was the limit of what my girlfriend and I were able to eat. I would love to come back with a large group to be able to try all their other menu items. A must try for anyone in town!

Finally made it in with a reservation for my birthday! This place has been on my list for a looong time. The ambience is beautiful & trendy. People are dressed casual to semi-formal. We all ordered round of cocktails, and all four of us got different pizzas. The mushroom pizza Umami Mama was the most memorable. Only order this pizza if you really like mushrooms because she was STANKY, but in a good way! It had a buttery melt-in-your-mouth feel. I personally ordered The Basque pizza, I love pickled & tart things, so I was intrigued by the preserved lemons. Overall, I appreciate the use of creative ingredients. The pizza crust itself is that lightweight kind of plain crust, but still holds its shape. The service was pleasant and we even received a photo booth ticket! All four of us squeezed into the tiny booth for a picture to commemorate the occasion! The only weird thing to me was that my friend and I ordered several tequila sodas and every single one tasted different. Like residual sweetness, or leftover tajin. Street parking and residential street parking. Not too hard. You'll eventually find a spot.

My family and I stopped in for a quick bite and a drink, and we couldn't be happier. We ordered the wings and skewers. I think these may be the best wings I've ever had. The skewers were great too. I ordered the Rickey and it was a nice, refreshing drink. Haan took care of us and did a fantastic job. At times I found myself staring at the decor as it was so cool. Definitely will be back here when we're in this part of town again.

I rarely ever rewrite reviews but Young Joni holds a special place in my heart. I went here for the first time in 2017 and remembered LOVING it. I just came back this past week, hoping it was still as good as the first time 7 years ago, and indeed it was. This restaurant is still just as cool as I remembered it to be. It's dark, romantic, and quaint. They even have a photo booth in the back of the restaurant, on the way to the restrooms. It's really cute. It was just my fiancé and I so we only ordered 2 things to share. -Thai Sausage Skewers: We inhaled this. We were intrigued by the ingredients because it was so unique and had a lot of herbs. The sausage was super flavorful and had hints of lemongrass and spices. The sauce was incredibly refreshing and had a kick. Definitely wrap the sausage in the lettuce cups! It's so good. I loved dipping the cucumbers and radishes in the sauce too. It was the equivalent of eating chips and salsa, but way healthier. -Korean BBQ Pizza: This pizza lives in my head rent free. 7 years later, I can confirm that it's my favorite pizza in the world. The short rib is so soft, tender, and insanely flavorful. The arugula was mixed in a sesame, soy chili vinaigrette, which added some freshness to the pizza. The pizza dough itself is super light and airy. The texture is amazing. Service was good. We went on a Tuesday and it was really busy. I will definitely be back! Next time, hopefully with a bigger group so that we can try more dishes/pizza

I had originally made a plan to get dinner at Pizzeria Lola (also owned by Ann Kim) while in Minneapolis, but conflicting plans made me have to cancel. I had been dreaming of trying a Korean BBQ Pizza (beef short ribs, mozzarella, scallion, arugula, soy-chili vinaigrette, sesame) since beginning to plan my trip for Minneapolis though... and then I discovered that Young Joni offers delivery of their pizzas via Door Dash! After a full day at my conference the next day, I ended up deciding to order a Korean BBQ pizza via Door Dash (since I was at a conference, I wasn't able to make reservations to go that night in-person because I wasn't sure what time would work). The Door Dash delivery of my pizza was prompt - and my pizza was even more delicious than I thought it would be. A day or two later, I was fortunate to be able to actually visit Young Joni in-person. I can confirm what others have noted: make a reservation before going to ensure you can enjoy your experience in the main dining room. it's absolutely worth it though. Loved having the chance to visit Young Joni in-person and wallow in the vibe, as well as excellent service and consistently delicious drinks and eats. TL;DR I didn't get any photos from Young Joni, but I did get a photo of the deliciousness of my original, Door Dash'd Korean BBQ Pizza. Haha. Honestly, my only regret is that I didn't have time to go back yet again to try more from the menu!

Went to dinner last night to Young Joni. I decided to sit at the bar and when I walked into the place, it was buzzing with people. At the bar, I was greeted by a friendly bartender and they were welcoming. I decided to order a cocktail first which was a Negroni. As for my meal, I decided to go with the chicory salad and the Korean barbecue pizza. The salad was a good idea to complement them pizza which I recommend. The pizza was very tasteful and they added this oil that I asked for a side of to add to my slices. I would definitely recommend this place to try the pizzas but other items are the menu look delicious and I would definitely come back again.

After making reservations several weeks in advance, we were able to dine at Young Joni. Reservations can be made online up to 8 weeks in advance. Everything we ate was fantastic! We ordered the grilled branzino that was recommended by our server. So delicious. I wish the fish was bigger and that it came with a side of rice. It does come as a whole fish so be aware of bones. We also ordered a couple of pizzas: the My Sha-Roni and the Korean BBQ. Both were good but were similar to Pizzaria Lola's (Ann Kim's other restaurant). Restaurant and bar are nicely decorated and has a fun vibe!

My friends and I visited Young Joni for brunch on a Sunday morning. Our reservation was at 10 am and we were seated promptly. The space is large, open, and warm - it was perfect for a snowy Sunday morning! My husband and I each ordered a drink. I ordered the Spritz and my husband ordered the mimosa. The mimosa was a winner; the yuzu cut through the acidity and made it smooth and really enjoyable. The spritz was a little bitter, but also enjoyable. We had a party of four and we split one appetizer and three pizzas. The appetizer was the shakshuka and it was really good. It was hearty and flavorful and the pita included was a perfect vehicle. For pizzas we ordered the Korean barbecue, the La Parisienne, and the Rise and Shine. The favorite was the Rise and Shine pizza; the sauce was rich, the sausage was a little sweet, and the egg on top was perfectly runny. The La Parisienne was a close second: it was salty and flavorful and the arugula was a great balance. The Korean barbecue was also very good; there were a few bites lacking flavor but overall it was a solid pizza. Young Joni is definitely worth a visit for brunch; now I need to try for dinner!

Young Joni Had a great night here at Young Joni! We started with a reservation which was nice for confirmation on a Thursday but there wasn't a wait so it wasn't necessary. (8pm) We had a bottle of wine to start us off which was good. We ordered three pizzas: the margarita, the Korean BBQ, and the Basque. This was a good range of pizzas as each was quite different from each other. The korean bbq was so good - bold with flavors but still light and not greasy. Amazingggg. The basque was surprisingly so good. The hints of lemon and olive combined made each bite unique and so tasty. Loved this! The margarita pie was so good too - the sauce was great. I do wish this was more traditional, but the product still tasted good. We ended with the bread pudding dessert a la mode. This was good , but could be improved. Flavors weren't as bold as they could be here. The atmosphere was pretty amazing. Dim and sexy, made you feel like you were at THE SPOT, and you really are. Overall - very good! The prices are very fair ($55 per person after tax & tip)!

Best pizza I have in the twin cities! I am super picky about pizza, and I love this place. The flavors they have here are amazing. Something for everyone. We went to the back bar they have here, make sure to have reservations, it is super cute but not very big! It has cool speakeasy vibes. The mocktails were pretty good, overpriced but nice they have some no alcohol options. We came here for pizza though. We got a couple to share around including the Korean beef, La Parisienne, and sharoni. The Korean beef was so good, great flavor and spicy. We were surprised that the la Parisienne was our favorite though! So sweet and salty and savory. It was perfect. Great difference to the Korean beef one too. Fun place, great quality ingredients. Solid pizza.
